Honorary Doctorate Degree
Universal Theological College and Seminary (UTHECS) announces the opportunity to receive recommendations and nominations of persons in the ministry who deserve the special recognition and honour of receiving the Honourary Doctorate Degree.
The Honourary Doctorate Degree is conferred upon distinguished Apostles, Prophets, Pastors, Evangelists, Ministers, and other Christian Leaders who have made significant contributions in their respective fields or for the expansion of God's Kingdom.
Types of Honorary Doctorate Degrees
Criteria
Individuals will be chosen primarily based on:
- Their length of years served and contributions to their ministry or profession
- Their demonstration of high Christian standards and integrity
- Their faithfulness in promoting the College and Seminary
Eligibility
The Honourary Doctorate Degree (Honouris Causa) shall be awarded for outstanding contributions in at least two of the following five areas:
- Kingdom leadership
- Theological education (not restricted to theological colleges)
- Church/para-church ministry, normally over period of at least twenty years
- Service to the body of Christ
- Service to the wider community
The next conferral ceremony takes place on the 3rd of May, 2025.

Academic Calendar
We run a Bi-semester system. Each semester is made up of 16 weeks, 14 weeks of study and two weeks of examination.
The beginning and end dates of each semester and other important dates for events appear on the academic calendar.
Grading System
UTHECS uses a 5-point grading scale:
- A: 70-100% (5.00) - Excellent
- B: 60-69% (4.00) - Very Good
- C: 50-59% (3.00) - Good
- D: 45-49% (2.00) - Fair
- E: 40-44% (1.00) - Pass
- F: 0-39% (0.00) - Fail
Degree Classification
- First Class Honours: 3.5-4.00 CGPA (Distinction)
- Second Class Honours (Upper Division): 3.0-3.49 CGPA (Upper Credit)
- Second Class Honours (Lower Division): 2.0-2.99 CGPA (Lower Credit)
- Third Class Honours: 1.0-1.99 CGPA (Pass)
- Below 1.0 (Probation/Withdrawal)
